Relative social ranking vs. Financial status

Would you rather earn $50,000 a year while other people make $25,000, or would you rather earn $100,000 a year while other people get $250,000? Please respond.

$100,000, for sure. It doesn't matter to me that I would be poorer than the rest of my peers. I would be content to live comfortably and have enough money to travel.

I'd rather make more regardless of the rationing of money

Really I think if you say you want to make less while making more than everybody you're saying you're a fascist.

Why leave it at that? How is one a fascist if they take the first option?

I guess if you admit that you'd rather make less but dominate others you're admitting that you want to dominate people... You're saying status over others is more important than financial security. Right?

Maybe that is a bit assumptive...

We all agree that we would take more money, right? So the question becomes what sort of person would decide to take less?
